It is a long time since we started with the trend of wearing school uniforms. There are different reasons for the schools to insist on school uniforms and definitely the reasons change from school to school. In some places, school uniforms are insisted upon to bring down the problems related to different way of dressing. We cannot deny the fact that both staff and students are benefited from these uniforms. Some private schools even insist on teachers to wear uniform. But it is not quite common. Definitely there is consistency and uniformity in the campus where the students are in uniform.
The time spent by the younger generation for dressing is reduced. Except on free days when the students are allowed to be in any dress, there is no confusion about what has to be worn. So, it is a kind of relief for most of the students, especially for those who cannot afford to spend much on dresses. These students are really saved as otherwise they would be laughed at by the fellow students for their dressing, if it doesn’t seem to be up to fashion and in some cases even these poor or less privileged students are kept aloof from the rest of the class.
